Photography A New Obsession

I’ve always been fond of photography, but I have only recently purchased a DSLR and I love it.

Coming from a graphic design background really does help when dealing with photography as you already are aware of good composition and colours. However i’ve learn’t a heck of alot just by taking more and more photos.

If you have the cash and interested in photography, pick up a DSLR. You will not regret it!

Below are some of the shots i’ve taken – check out my Flickr account for more.

      • I totally agree. Just need the extra cash to invest in one. Can’t beat the quality of a DSLR.

      • “recently purchased a DSLR”
Waw I really like your work. I also just purchased a dslr but far of that good.
        Nice work!

      • DCLR? Do you mean Sony alpha? what version?

      • Can you provide more information on this, or do you have some resources you can share where i can get more of such stuff?

      • Really cool. Do you take your pics b/w right in the cam, or do you convert to b/w from colour on the computer?

      • hELLO

LIKE THE BLOG, THINKING OF ADDING SOME OF YOUR PHOTO CREATIONS TO MY BLOG ACTUALLY AS I AM IMPRESSED. :-)

        WHAT IS DCLR?

INVOLVED IN OFFSHORE SOFTWARE AND HAVE A SMALL TRANSLATION SERVICE I AM STARTING

        • DSLR := DIGITAL SINGLE LENS REFLEX.

If film camera, the SLR. All it means is that the lens used to look through to compose the picture is the same lens that TAKES the picture.

          Useful link:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_single-lens_reflex_camera

Why is this important? because many early cameras use TWO lenses, not one. with one lens to view the subject and compose and the other to TAKE the photo. This made the camera bigger and more expensive. A popular camera of this type was Rolleiflex (pro) or Rolleicord (amateur).

          I hope this helps

I am always happy to help amateur photographers.

      • You actually CAN beat the quality of a DSLR. With a film camera.

        • I AGREE.
film is much better, albeit more expensive. but worth it, by far.
film slrs do manually what dslrs do automatically, so to understand digital faster it helps to have mastered a film slr.

that being said, these pictures are all stunning. my favourites are the 3rd and 4th ones (from the top).

      • I really like your design. It’s clean and doesn’t get in the way.

And that logo effect is killer!

BTW, you’ll eliminate that comment spam if you install the Bad Behavior plugin. I use that with Akismet and WP-SpamFree and have zero problems on a bunch of sites.

      • I don’t like how your contact button is a mailto link. It feels a little intrusive. I didn’t have a reason to contact you. I was just nosing.

        Fantastic work btw!

      • Hi, I can see you’re in to photography, nice pictures…

      • I liked your perspectives and the angles that you shot some of your pictures, it made them interesting more so than just a normal straight on type photograph. I recently (last week) purchased a Canon Rebel Ti 15.3 megapixel and am excited to explore portraiture. I find people endlessly fascinating, I just hope they won’t chase me off for taking their photo!

      • Can you provide more information on this? This is what i am studying at the moment. Thanks.

      • It would be very kind of you if you can provide me more about this.I am interested in this .

      • Why do you make your pictures black and white?

      • No cash – BUT WE´LL PUBLISH GOOD PICTURES on the website (first) and in the printed version of our magazine (later on). Check it out! Greetz ;)

      • Really love the photo’s, you’ve got a great eye. Going to check out your Flickr now.

      • I love the focus on the second one and the perspective of the first one – good stuff!
