Find answers to your questions about the AI Brand Engine
What is the AI Brand Engine?
AI Brand Engine encodes your brand guidelines into automated rules so anyone in your organisation can generate on-brand assets — no design resource needed. Your typography, layout, colour, and imagery rules become a living system that produces compliant creative at scale. Instead of referencing a PDF and hoping for the best, your team works within a system where the right output is the only output.
Who is AI Brand Engine for?
AI Brand Engine is built for organisations that produce brand assets at scale. This means you’ll typically have over 50 employees, work across multiple markets, have a set of sub-brands, and a brand team overwhelmed by adaptation requests. It’s been designed for brand managers, creative directors, and marketing operations leads who need consistency without becoming the bottleneck.
How is AI Brand Engine different from a tool like Canva?
Tools like Canva give you fixed layouts that users can easily break — wrong fonts, clashing colours, misaligned elements. AI Brand Engine encodes your brand’s logic directly into the creation process using BXL (Brand Expression Language), a rule system that dictates how your brand elements relate to one another. Layouts, typography, and imagery adapt to content while staying within your guardrails.
How do I know the outputs are brand-safe?
AI Brand Engine runs intelligence checks on every single brand asset. Typographic intelligence validates punctuation, tone, and word filtering. Image intelligence uses colour analysis and machine-learning detection to check subject alignment and brand compliance. Layout intelligence measures content conditions like line counts and aspect ratios, and adapts designs automatically. There’s also an audit trail that details who created what, when, using which configuration, and who approved it. No asset can go live before passing all checks.
What happens if the AI generates something off-brand?
AI Brand Engine is rule-based, not generative. It can only produce combinations that your brand guidelines explicitly permit. It can’t select an unapproved font, break a margin rule, or use a colour outside your palette. If content falls outside the defined rules, the system flags it for human review rather than guessing.
Does AI Brand Engine handle tone of voice?
Yes. AI Brand Engine checks content against your tone of voice principles — flagging where copy could be clearer, more direct, or more human. It surfaces guidance on scannability, plain language, and messaging, helping teams stay on-brand while retaining overall editorial control.
Does AI Brand Engine replace my design team?
No. AI Brand Engine handles the high-volume, repetitive work that drains your team’s time: social posts, banners, localisation adaptation and sales collateral. These are the types of requests that fill the queue but don’t require creative judgement. Your design team sets the rules once, and then AI Brand Engine executes them consistently.
Can AI Brand Engine integrate with my existing tools?
Yes. AI Brand Engine is designed to work where your team already works. All your team needs to do is supply text and images through the channels they’re already using, and AI Brand Engine asks targeted questions to clarify intent, emphasis, and tone. We’re currently also building dedicated integrations with Microsoft Teams, Frontify, and SharePoint.
Is AI Brand Engine software or a service?
Both. To get AI Brand Engine set up, we’ll work with you on a consultancy basis to codify your brand rules: typography relationships, layout logic, colour systems and imagery treatments. Once this setup is complete, you’ll have access to the software platform for ongoing brand asset creation.
How long does setup usually take?
Typically 4-8 weeks, depending on the complexity of your brand system. However, once live, adding new templates or adapting rules is much faster.
